India Develops 5G Antenna for Smartphones – Credit IIM (ISM) Dhanbad

India on the path of being the most successful digitally powered country has gained a path-breaking achievement by developing 5G antennas for smartphones. The discovery happened at the electronics department of Indian Institute of Technology (IIM) (ISM). The device is 5th generation antenna for smartphones that has that has the ability to eliminate loss of data and also augments the download speed 10 times more as compared to the speed to latest  4G handsets in the market.

A team of three talented students and two professors are involved in this development, and the overall project was funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and government’s Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).

The technology is most likely to utilize three cutting-edge technologies – Massive MINO, cognitive radio and beamforming technologies. This technology will certainly be used by a wide range of mobile manufacturers in India as well as abroad also in the coming days.
